Loneliness Is a Choice for Contemporary Young People
The answer might be that we're just too lazy.
Lazy to make new friends, lazy to maintain relationships, lazy to meet up, lazy to chat.
Rather, I prefer to be alone,
Spending time with my phone, Switch, iPad (and possibly Kindle),
Rather than stepping out the door.
Often trapped in a loop of thinking 'no one wants to go out with me', 'I don't want to go out when someone invites me' loneliness.
This is just one small facet of our current social situation.
Dr. So has observed and researched for a long time,
and concluded that there are some social laws for contemporary young people.
Look at how people step by step put themselves into loneliness.
For contemporary young people, loneliness is a choice.

We're not really being uninvited or having no one to invite, just that our free time is too little now.
Workdays require work, and overtime after work, and most of the weekend is spent working. In the remaining time, I simply choose to be alone.
Basically, as long as it makes me happy, it's the best social state.
