Don't Your Child Refuse to Eat Vegetables? Add a Little Flour, No Frying or Baking, Kids Will Devour It!

Many children don't like to eat vegetables, and my little Dodo is no exception. He never eats vegetables, saying 'I won't pick picky eaters' while spitting out the vegetables he's eaten. Sometimes he simply refuses to put them in his mouth.

To encourage Dodo to eat vegetables, I tried various methods, such as vegetable pancakes, vegetable dumplings, and vegetable meatballs. However, the drawbacks of these methods are that vegetables are secondary ingredients, not the main course, and the quantity is relatively small, so he doesn't eat much vegetables.

The reason why mothers try to encourage their children to eat vegetables is because mothers all have an experience: children need balanced nutrition when they are growing up, and they need various nutrients. As vegetables are one of the types of vegetables, they also have great nutritional value. Green vegetables contain many vitamins, calcium, potassium, and also rich in dietary fiber.

The Chinese Nutrition Society recommends that lactating women maintain a balanced food pyramid, specifically recommending that vegetables should account for more than 2/3 of the daily intake. The dietary pyramid for preschool children does not explicitly highlight green vegetable menus, but in life, compared to fruits, many children's vegetable intake is insufficient because vegetables are not as delicious as fruits.

Many mothers also say that their children don't like to eat vegetables. To encourage their children to eat vegetables, they use coercion and temptation, and various methods are used, but the children still don't eat.

Children are very simple, theoretically it doesn't matter, only delicious things can attract children.

On weekends at home, I tried changing the way I made green vegetables, to everyone's surprise, Dodo loved it and grabbed it as soon as it was hot, waiting for me to blow it.

What did I make? Vegetable meatballs.

I rarely make vegetable meatballs because I think vegetable meatballs are delicious when they are made with meat, and vegetable meatballs are not tasty when they are not fried. Fried foods are not healthy and are not suitable for children, so I rarely make them.

This time I made vegetable meatballs using the steaming method, which doesn't lose nutrients, is healthy and light, and when dipped in a vinegar sauce, it's refreshing and delicious.

Let's talk about the method.

Ingredients: Green vegetables, flour, eggs, salt.

Steps to make:

1 Wash and drain the green vegetables.

I used chrysanthemum this time because other green vegetables were finished, there was only a chrysanthemum, it was a temporary measure, I didn't want to go to the supermarket too much, and I didn't want to go.

Actually, spinach, rapeseed, chives, etc. can be used. You can boldly try.

2 Add ingredients and shape into balls.

Add a little salt and an egg to the chopped green vegetables, mix well, then add flour and stir until it's not too dry but can easily form into a ball.

Then dab a little water on your hands, and the green dough balls will not stick. I made them about the size of a small egg, and you can adjust the size according to your preferences.

3 Steam for cooking.

Place the shaped meatballs in a steamer and steam for 15 minutes, or adjust the time according to the size of the meatballs.

4 Eat directly or with sauce.

This green vegetable meatball is mainly vegetables, flour and eggs are just auxiliary ingredients. Adding eggs and flour not only increases the viscosity to help shape the balls but also increases the nutrition.

You can eat them directly, which is fragrant and refreshing, or dip them in a sauce. I made a sauce by mixing vinegar with a little soy sauce and sesame oil.

Dodo loves to eat them and uses chopsticks to string them together, saying 'They are like candy apples.'

You can make a lot of vegetable meatballs at once and freeze them in the refrigerator. Take them out to steam them or slice them thinly and pan-fry them over low heat, then dip them in sauce, which is also very delicious.

This green vegetable meatball has simple ingredients, easy to make, and children like to eat it. Moms can try it.
