Don't Just Fry Radishes - Try This Method: Soft, Juicy, and Savory, You Won't Have Enough!

It's a special period now, and every time you go to buy vegetables, you need to buy 1-2 weeks' worth. Having a refrigerator at home is a good thing, as it can preserve food for half a month without spoiling. However, if you are working outside and don't have a refrigerator, you need to buy some long-lasting vegetables when buying, such as potatoes, white radishes, yams, etc.

Prepare ingredients

White radish, ground meat, salt, pepper, (liao jiu - liquor), soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch

1First, peel and slice the white radish into fine shreds. Those with good knife skills can cut it into shreds directly. After cutting, place it in a bowl, and add 1 spoon of salt to the radish shreds. Mix well with chopsticks and marinate for 15 minutes. This will drain the moisture from the radish shreds.

2Prepare some ground meat in advance, add ginger and (liao jiu - liquor), salt, white pepper, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and stir well with chopsticks. Set aside.

3Squeeze the marinated radish shreds dry. You must squeeze the moisture out forcefully, otherwise the meatballs will fall apart when forming. Place the squeezed radish shreds into the ground meat, add 1 spoon of cornstarch, and mix well.

4Then, form the mixed meat and radish into meatballs one by one, place them all in a bowl, leave space in the middle to prevent them from sticking together when cooked.

5Pour a moderate amount of water into a pot, place a steamer basket in the pot, and place the radish meatballs into the steamer. Steam for 15 minutes over high heat.

6Prepare a small bowl of water, add soy sauce and cornstarch and stir well. After the radish meatballs are cooked, pour the steaming juice into the pot, then pour in the adjusted sauce, and simmer over low heat until the sauce thickens.

7Finally, pour the thickened sauce onto the radish meatballs and sprinkle with chopped green onion. A simple and nutritious steamed radish meatball is complete. It is salty and delicious, and more healthy than deep-fried radish meatballs. If you like it, try it!

Tips summary

1After cutting the radish shreds, put salt to extract moisture, so they won't fall apart when forming meatballs.

2The ground meat should be 3 parts fat and 7 parts lean meat. All lean meat will not be fragrant enough to eat.

3Cornstarch can be cornstarch or other cornstarch.
