Black-necked Gulls ‘Visit’ Taibai, Baoji!
On March 10th, two black-necked gulls and one white egret were leisurely foraging by the river in Tangkou Village, Taibai County, Taibai Town, Baoji City.

It is reported that black-necked gulls are a first-level key protected wild animal in China. Due to their rare number, they are known as ‘bird pandas’. Also, because of their dignified appearance, their high and majestic character, and their good-natured and clean habits, they are called ‘bird gentlemen’ by people.

In recent years, with the continuous improvement of the ecological environment and the increasing awareness of people to protect wild animals, there have been a significant increase in wild animals in Taibai County, and the figures of rare birds such as black-necked gulls and white egrets have frequently appeared.
These rare birds come to here every winter, and migrate north when the flowers bloom in spring. With the recent warming of the weather, they are estimated to be starting a new journey soon. (Written by/Wang Zhenhua)
