The Mountain Most Complained About: 160 Yuan Ticket, 3-Day Validity – Tourists Say They Can't Keep Up
Introduction:
When we go hiking, we always make a mental preparation, because hiking requires a considerable amount of physical exertion, and it often takes a whole day to climb a mountain. A typical itinerary involves a full day's journey, and for those with poor physical fitness, combined with the steep and difficult terrain, most people will suffer from leg pain and be unable to move the next day. There is a mountain in China with a maximum altitude of 1133 meters, which is not considered very high among China's famous mountains and peaks. For tourists, climbing it doesn't seem like a major challenge, and there's even a cable car available, but many tourists still say they can't succeed in climbing it, and their physical fitness simply can't keep up. The question is, why is this the case?
Before visiting Qingdao Laoshan, I only knew its altitude was 1133 meters. For those of us who frequently go hiking, it's not too difficult. However, when I actually arrived at Laoshan, I realized that it's a huge challenge not only for physical fitness but also requires sufficient time. Why is this the case?
Laoshan is the main mountain range of the Shandong Peninsula, and it's the first peak along China's 18,000-mile coastline. It occupies a prominent position in China's mountain scenery due to its unique combination of mountain and sea landscapes and its rich cultural heritage. Laoshan Scenic Area is a national 5A-level tourist resort. However, its attractions are not just one; they are relatively scattered.
Going to Laoshan revealed that the Laoshan Scenic Area is divided into seven major browsing areas, distributed in different regions of Laoshan, such as the southern Taqing Palace Scenic Area, the eastern Yangkou Scenic Area, the central South and North Jiuquan Scenic Areas, the western Hua Lou Scenic Area, the northern Heshan Scenic Area, and the central Juifeng Scenic Area. These seven browsing areas have a total ticket price of 160 yuan. If you follow a normal itinerary, two scenic areas per day, and three-day validity, it shouldn't be a problem. However, many tourists complain that the ticket price is too high, especially for locals, and the ticket price is considered expensive.
Laoshan's 160 yuan ticket is valid for three days, which is quite 'generous' for tourists. However, when we go to Laoshan, we often find ourselves troubled by one thing: the most essential attractions are Yangkou Scenic Area, Juifeng Scenic Area, Taqing Palace, Heshan Temple and Jiuquan Scenic Area. Visiting these essential attractions, with a ticket price of 160 yuan and a validity of three days, is more than enough, but for many tourists, it's almost impossible to complete all the attractions.
Yangkou Scenic Area and Juifeng Scenic Area require climbing, and Juifeng is the highest peak of Laoshan at 1133 meters. These two scenic areas basically require one day each. If you have the physical strength, you can climb two mountains in two days, and then spend one day visiting Taqing Palace, Heshan Temple and Jiuquan Scenic Area. Then, on the last day, you can visit other attractions you want to see. This is feasible for tourists who can keep up with the pace. However, most tourists can't climb Yangkou Scenic Area after climbing Juifeng.
Laoshan Scenic Area, as a national 5A-level tourist resort, boasts abundant natural and cultural attractions, and every place is worth visiting. Although it uses a 160-yuan ticket with three-day validity, due to the relatively scattered attractions, it's not only necessary to climb mountains, but also to spend a long time traveling. Therefore, for many tourists, the challenge of completing all the essential attractions in terms of time and energy is huge. This is why many tourists complain about the three-day validity of the ticket and consider the ticket price too high, feeling that they cannot browse all the attractions with sufficient time and energy is a pity.
