Flowers Bloom in Sichuan: Giant Oilseed Flower Fields Create 'Giant Scroll-like' Landscapes
Over the past few days, beautiful landscapes such as 'Daxiang Grain Warehouse' and 'Rhythms of the Earth' have become a scenic line in the rapeseed flower fields in Chengdu's Dayi district, transforming into a new landmark for rural tourism. This is thanks to a new trick played by experts from the Chengdu Academy of Agricultural Sciences Crop Research Institute.
Today, we're taking you to the Sichuan Rulin Digital Agriculture Center (Sujia Town Yongxing Village, Dayi County), which is the core area of Daxiang's grain and oil industry. The inspiration for the three huge paintings comes from different content, and when viewed from above, they have themes of 'agricultural strength', 'rural beauty', and 'farmer wealth'.
'Agricultural Strength' (also known as 'Gongguan Culture') uses the architectural style of Anren Ancient Town's western Sichuan folk houses as its theme. It uses artistic techniques to miniaturize the carvings and decorations of the buildings, focusing on reflecting the unique features of Anren Ancient Town. We welcome more people to travel, settle down, and start businesses in Dayi.
'Rural Beauty' (also known as 'Daxiang Grain Warehouse') uses a Chinese character representation and calligraphic style to combine the 'warehouse' and 'county' characters, vividly showcasing the agricultural function of 'a beautiful county and a magnificent grain warehouse'.
'Farmer Wealth' (also known as 'Rhythms of the Earth') radiates outwards from a single central point, like a colorful musical score, linking together all stages of agricultural production, symbolizing that Daxiang's agricultural production level will continue to advance to a higher level.
Culture and agriculture blend beautifully, Sichuan cuisine and Sichuan rapeseed oil complement each other, by delving deeply into cultural connotations, and balancing production and life, we can create rural tourism projects with unique cultural characteristics. Mr. Yang Jin, Chief Planner of the Technology Planning Department of the Chengdu Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said, 'Rapeseed not only produces the 'soul' of Sichuan cuisine and 'Heavenly Vegetable Oil', but can also be used to beautify rural areas, promote tourism, and create a popular 'check-in' location. It is an important spring crop'.
Rapeseed is Chengdu's key agricultural industry, with an average annual planting area exceeding 1.8 million acres. Chengdu is also the main consumer of rapeseed oil. Under the support of projects such as the Chengdu Rapeseed Comprehensive Test Station of the National Rapeseed Technology System, the Sichuan Rice Innovation Team, and the Sichuan Rapeseed Collaborative Promotion Project, the experts from the Chengdu Academy of Agricultural Sciences have innovated through the collection and selection of rapeseed resources, breeding colorful-leaf rapeseed for landscape painting. This not only harvests rapeseed seeds but also beautifies the environment, enhances the image of rural areas, and promotes rural tourism, creating a popular 'check-in' location, and becoming Sichuan's another positive exploration to 'highlight the golden signboard of agriculture'.
