Tagong Grassland, Tagong Temple
Tagong Temple is a famous Sakya school temple in the Tibetan area, with a high status in Tibetan Buddhism. The temple architecture is magnificent and has a long and ancient history. According to legend, in 641 AD, Princess Wen Cheng entered Tibet and married Zan Zanbu at the grassland where the people of Miyalu lived, and when she saw the grassland with a clear and beautiful scenery here, she decided to build a temple here. Tagong Temple is the Sakya school's Orbpa temple, and it has a history of more than 1000 years.

You can hear the sound of lamas chanting from afar, there is an aesthetic feeling and comfort that cannot be expressed in words, which makes people's hearts clear and calm in that moment.

Actually, compared to the stories of Tagong Temple's one thousand years inside, I like the surroundings of Tagong Temple's four sides, the rotating cylinders. The rotating cylinders here are very different from many Tibetan temples. The rotating cylinders are very tall and it takes a lot of effort to rotate them. I didn't count how many rotating cylinders there are around Tagong Temple, but in the two plus hours I spent at Tagong Temple, I counted countless Tibetan people braving the drizzle and cold wind to turn countless circles, which is difficult to understand, but it inspires awe.

As soon as you step on Tibetan soil, you can see rotating prayer wheels of all colors by Tibetan people by the roadside and in temples. They are mostly dressed in colorful Tibetan robes, holding rotating prayer wheels and placing the other end of the handle in the leather cover, then using their right hand to support it under the rotating prayer wheel, making it turn gently in a clockwise direction! These rotating prayer wheels are usually made of wood. Elderly people with white hair are very light when turning the prayer wheel, and these are usually made of bone or metal, and the craftsmanship is exquisite. Some are covered with a cloth, and the rotating prayer wheel inside is very precious, and many are inlaid with gemstones.
